James is an award-winning Reward professional with over 10 years' experience, who has developed a particular specialism in complex harmonisation projects in the public and third sector.
His career in Reward began with four years in a broad-ranging role for the national government of his native Jersey, and he has gone on to hold a number of consultancy and interim positions covering compensation, benefits and pensions.
His work is driven by the impact on each individual employee and a keen attention to detail to ensure the fairest, clearest and most equitable outputs for all.
His projects have included:
Designing pay structures and harmonising terms & conditions packages for multiple complex organisations; one such project was recognised as the ‘Best Reward and Recognition Initiative’ at the CIPD People Management Awards 2019
Developing Reward strategies, philosophies and principles
Pay and benefits benchmarking for a range of clients in various sectors, from small local charities to large global corporations
Gender Pay Gap reporting, and well as conducting Equal Pay Audits and producing action plans for a range of clients
Short- and long-term incentive plan review and design projects, from annual performance bonuses to project-related cash-based LTIPs
Leading a pensions schemes review project, including a consultation process to close an historic final salary scheme and introducing a series of improvements to the organisational DC scheme (contribution levels and salary sacrifice)
